QUADSEAL® is a proven formulation, with more than 30 million doses manufactured and sold in the United States over the past five years.
To confirm its performance, a field study in the Waikato region of New Zealand compared QUADSEAL® with TEATSEAL® brand teat sealant. Cows received both products - two teats treated with QUADSEAL® and two with TEATSEAL®. Teats were X‑rayed at multiple timepoints during the dry period and the X-rays independently assessed by an expert clinician.
The outcome: QUADSEAL® was determined to be equivalent in performance to the TEATSEAL® reference product, forming full and effective internal teat seals throughout the dry period.
Like other leading teat sealants, QUADSEAL® contains an inert paste with 65% w/w bismuth subnitrate, designed to create a physical barrier in the teat canal. Administered at dry-off, QUADSEAL® helps prevent mastitis-causing bacteria from entering the teat during the dry period.
